Using Vintage Swarovski Crystal Beads to Create One of a Kind Jewelry
If you like to add some bling to your one of a kind jewelry designs, and you love vintage Swarovski crystal beads, then here are some rare vintage Swarovski crystal loose beads that you will love to work with.
Whether you want to add a retro look to your jewelry, or you just prefer the less common vintage styles, Swarovski crystal is the best in the business when it comes to Austrian crystal. However, depending on the popularity of certain styles and colors, Swarovski will discontinue or retire beads colors and styles.
Luckily, vintage beads, especially Swarovski beads are highly obtainable if you know where to look. It helps if you are already familiar with the styles and shapes that you are looking for, but if you are not, this article will introduce you to some of what I consider to be the most interesting Swarovski crystal bead shapes that you can only buy on the secondary market.
Depending on the price and availability of these hard to find Swarovski crystal beads, many of them can be purchased in small lots from sellers. Ebay is one of the best places to find odd lots of retired Swarovski crystal beads.

Swarovski 3700 Margarita Bead
The Margarita bead (3700) is one of the more interesting Swarovski shapes, and lends itself to many designs, especially because of the floral pattern.
It is pretty difficult to find the vast array of colors that this bead has been available in over the years, but as you can see from the few shown here, the color range is pretty wide.
When searching on Ebay for a specific bead shape, you can use the bead style number to help find it. The name is not always listed on Ebay.

Swarovski Color Choices for Beads
Sometimes your search of vintage Swarovski crystal beads will lead you to discover some color choices in specific bead shapes that you did not know that they had been made in. Swarovski often changes colors choices on beads to the most popular.
Not every bead comes in every color or in every finish.
Nor do they all come in the opaque colors, and AB (Aurora Borealis) finish.

Pagoda Shape 5107 Swarovski Beads
One of my favorite shapes of vintage Swarovski beads is the Pagoda 5107 shape. It is curved on one side and flat on the other side, and often came in the AB finish. Really different looking and lends itself to some interesting design applications.
Most usually found in clear, sometimes you can find this bead in other colors.

Vintage Swarovski Hearts Appropriate for Romantic Gifts
Whether you just string a vintage Swarovski heart bead on a chain or combine it into a bracelet, earrings or necklace, a little vintage Swarovski bling goes a long way towards a beautiful romantic gift for Valentine’s Day, birthdays, anniversaries or other special occasions.
Swarovski hearts are really beautiful and they sparkle and shine, but not in an overwhelming way. Use them for both children and adult designs.
