Real Vintage Hand Painted Decorated Easter Eggs
To me, the most fascinating vintage Easter egg decorations are the more traditional ones made out of real eggs. There are many cultures that have a tradition of decorating real eggs for keepsake decorations. Not only is it an art to decorate the egg, but it is also an art to blow the egg contents out of the shell so that only the shell remains to be decorated.
Many traditions use a variation of painting and protecting the paint or dye with wax to keep the colors separate. There are still incredible artisans today who continue to make the traditional decorated Easter eggs.
