Vintage Coats Can Set the Style
Are you looking for an authentic vintage coat or jacket? A vintage coat that complements your other vintage wardrobe items? Then you have come to the right place, because there are some lovely vintage coats available for you to collect and add to your vintage wardrobe. I was amazed when I started looking for vintage outerwear at how many wonderful vintage coats and vintage jackets could be found online in excellent condition.
I like to collect the authentic vintage styles as much as I can instead of retro styles that just look vintage. I had a very fun time looking through the vintage coat selection available on Ebay. This article is a great place to start if you are searching for women’s vintage coats. Vintage coats are so in style, and since most coats were made well decades ago, probably better than they are now, you can be assured that they have stood the test of time. I have divided up the vintage coats and jackets in this article by style and materials, but if you can’t find exactly what you are looking for here, then click through to Ebay and search there.
Vintage Women’s Button Down Coat
Vintage coats were made for all seasons, and in most parts of the world, we wear coats year round, heavy wool and fur coats in the winter, and rain coats and trench coats in the spring, summer, and fall. And of course, leather jackets and coats are worn most of the year. So I was pleased when I was able to find so many different coat weights, fabrics, and styles on Ebay.
This coat pictured above left is a beautiful tailored button down vintage coat with an overly large collar. This style is timeless, and you can find it on Ebay in several fabrics both for winter and spring.

Women’s Vintage Trench Coat
I found many versions of a vintage womens trench coat on Ebay. You can find trench coats in all colors and fabrics, to the neutral beige to plaid. My personal favorite was a green and blue plaid trench coat that I found. That trench coat was a winter weight coat.
However, trench coats are perfect for spring because they can be used for warmer rain coats. There were many choices of vintage rain coats in a trench coat style, some with zip out liners that make the coat more versatile.

Vintage Faux Fur and Authentic Fur Coats
If you are a fan of fur jackets, stoles, or coats, or even a coat with a fur collar, there are several styles of both real and faux fur jackets and coats available on Ebay. One of the things that I like so much about shopping on Ebay is that you can find some really great outdoor coats and jackets for a very reasonable price if you buy vintage.
This is not really the place to argue whether fur coats are ethical or not, but only the place to enjoy either the real or faux fur that you love for warmth and comfort. Some of the wool winter coats also have fur collars that are very beautiful in mink, fox, and sable.

Vintage Leopard Print Coats
And who can forget the wonderful vintage leopard print coats of the 50’s and later decades. Are they tacky or just fun? You can browse the leopard print vintage coats and jackets to decide. But who can resist them?
For animal rights folks, most of the leopard print coats are made of fabric or faux fur. Not too many vintage authentic leopard coats.

Vintage Coat Colors and Styles
Vintage coats come in styles that are no longer available or hard to find. One of the vintage styles that I love best is the swing coat. The swing coat is sort of a compromise between a coat and a jacket, and a really fun coat to wear that is good for every body type.
Swing coats fit over a lot of clothes or keep you warm in a skimpy dress. Swing coats are great for dressy affairs or even over a pair of jeans.
Vintage coats are also available in many colors that we cannot find today. I have put a few interesting green coats on this article, but you can find many fashionable colors on coats from decades ago that do not exist right now. Find fresh colors or funky colors is great fun to add to your vintage wardrobe.
